Launching of Book on Vietnam Film Cinema History
This podcast shows highlights from the USA book launch of NETPAC's English translation of "Modernity and Nationality in Vietnamese Cinema", the first book on Vietnamese cinema available in English written by a Vietnamese. The author, Vietnamese film critic Ngo Phuong Lan, and the co-editor, Singapore International Film Festival programmer Philip Cheah, were both in attendance as part of the Vietnam Film Symposium that was touring the US. This event kicked off the tour and was moderated by Professor Wimal Dissanayake of the University of Hawaii, a renowned scholar of Asian cinema.
